Call for Tutorial Proposals
Russian Conference on Digital Libraries (RCDL 2007) invites proposals for
tutorials.
A major Russian event in the digital libraries field, RCDL helps to
improve international collaboration. English is the second official language
of the conference and most of Russian participants are able to speak
English, providing a foundation for efficient communication.
RCDL traditionally attracts leading Russian IR researchers.
Conference program includes number of presentation on IR topics
and this year there are two collocated IR workshops:
Russian Information Retrieval Evaluation Seminar (ROMIP)
(http://romip.ru/en/index.html for details) and Internet Mathematics
workshop (http://company.yandex.ru/grant/index.xml).
We are looking for 2-4 hours tutorials surveying mature work,
presenting emerging approaches or challenging applications.
Especially welcome are tutorials addressing advanced IR topics
and topics on the edge of DL and IR.
Conference will be held in Pereslavl, a small ancient city in Moscow

Title of Tutorial
Name, affiliation, and contact coordinates of speaker
Rational: the overall objective of the tutorial
Outline: a brief structure of the tutorial
Intended audience: what prerequisites are required to understand the tutorial
List of (up to 10) related references.
Where this tutorial has been presented before (or is under consideration for presentation), if applicable.
A short biographical sketch of each author (about 10 lines/author).
What a tutorial should NOT be: a promotion of the only presenter's work;
a promotion of a product.

Deadline for the proposals: August 1, 2007
Notification of acceptance: August 10, 2007
Notes:
Tutorials will be freely accessible by conference participants.
Tutorial notes will be published on the conference web site and included
into the conference proceedings.
Depending on funding availability, RCDL 2007 will cover travel and
lodging expenses for one presenter per accepted tutorial.
